Fire Safety Commendation Medal

2013 Medal Recipient

Captain II Ramiro Galvez

Captain Galvez serves as the station commander of Fire Station 10, Bailey’s Crossroads. The station serves a very diverse community, and Captain Galvez leads the team by actively participating in community events and emergency preparedness. His bilingual skills also prove beneficial. In the past year he has ensured a successful move to a temporary station location due to reconstruction of the original fire house, as well as planning for the new station. Additionally, Capt. Galvez serves as paramedic and active member of Fairfax County’s Urban Search and Rescue Team, where he has been deployed many times. Capt. Galvez leads from the front, setting the example for others to follow.
