VASSAR Awards Presentation
The VASSAR Annual conference is an opportunity for SAR members from around the state to meet, conduct business, and recognize accomplishments from the previous year. Fairfax Resolves fared well in the awards presentation this year. After submitting a comprehensive annual report, the Chapter took home eleven separate awards, including the Best Large Chapter award for the second year in a row.

Rumbugh Oration Contest Winner
The Fairfax Resolves Chapter recognized Matthew Retterer as the 2009 Oration Contest winner. Matthew went on to place first in the state oration contest and will represent Virginia at the SAR Annual Congress in Atlanta this summer.

Knight Essay Contest Winner
The Fairfax Resolves Chapter recognized Hanna Clark as the 2009 Oration Contest winner. Ms. Clark went on to represent Fairfax Resolves in the State Essay Contest where she took home second place and another $300. Congratulations Ms. Clark!
